Metro Elite Hockey and The Bog Skating Rink are proud to announce the 2nd annual South Shore Town Cup. This tournament format is modeled after the Merrimack Valley Cup and New England County Cup. The mid- week tournament series promises to provide fun, excitement, and highly competitive hockey as well as a showcase of the best hockey talent available on the South Shore and surrounding areas. Each team at each level will represent the best players from their respective town regardless of where they play during the hockey season. A South Shore Cup will be presented to the winner of each level and at the completion of the series one town will be named South Shore Town Cup Champions. Each town has a tournament director and each coach is responsible for selecting his team.

New this year: Two Girls divisions U/14 and U/18 along with another Men’s division. The girls will play for a separate Cup and have their own District territories.


Tournament Features:

12 teams - 3 divisions of 4 teams each. (Girls will be 8 teams- 2 divisions of 4 teams each)

Each team is comprised of the best hockey players in their town who have a unique opportunity to play together as representatives of their community.

Eligibility Standards

To be eligible for the SSTC at the Mite through Men levels all players must live in the town that they are playing for regardless of where and who the player competes for in the regular season. Players that do not currently live in towns participating in the SSTC are not eligible to participate in the tournament. Players will be allowed to play up a division and not down a division. In addition a player in the men’s 27 to 39 division may not play up a division. Note: Pros must be retired for two years to be eligible for the 40 and older. Currents pros of any age are eligible for the 39 and under.

 

 

Town Selection Process

The selection of teams for the SSTC is solely at the discretion of the coach and town Director. Metro Elite Hockey and South Shore Town Cup play no role in who is selected to play on the teams or the selection procedure. The fee to play in the SSTC is $150.00 per player 4 games guaranteed. Each team will have a max of 17 players and a minimum of 14 players. The coach's roster and tournament fee is due one month before the tournament begins. Players will receive a registration form from the team's coach. This form needs to be submitted for each player and if under 18 years of age signed by a parent or guardian.

 

Boundaries for Greater Teams

Greater Rockland players must live in Rockland, Abington and East Bridgewater. Greater Scituate players must live in Scituate and Cohasset. Greater Norwell players must live in Norwell and Hull. Greater Pembroke players must live in Pembroke, Plimpton and Halifax. Greater Whitman players must live in Whitman, Hanson, and Kingston. Greater Plymouth players must live in Plymouth and Carver.

 

Girls Boundaries

Same as above with consolidations of the following; Hanover will be combined w/ Greater Rockland and Greater Plymouth. Greater Scituate and Greater Norwell are combined. Greater Whitman will be combined with Greater Pembroke

 

 

What does the cost include?

The $150.00 tournament cost includes the following:

·         4 game guarantee, 6 games maximum

·         All games 2- 22 minute stop time periods

·         Great quality team shirts and matching socks

·         Team statistics taken and published during tournament

·         2 high school referees per game

·         Three stars of the game.

·         Team and individual awards for top two teams in each division

·         All tournament Awards: Team and MVP awards for all divisions

·         Team photo for each player.

·         Individual photos taken during tournament and available to purchase.

·         T-Shirts
